Unknown Venice: Cannaregio district and the Jewish Ghetto
This is a walk into one of the most folkloristic neighborhoods, en route you will see a quieter area of the city known for its long canals that are crisscrossed by lines of daily laundry hung out to dry. At the end of this walk, you will arrive to the Jewish Ghetto, a landsite of important social significance which reveals how the Venetian Republic was historically tolerant towards diverse cultures and religions. Today the Venetian Jewish community is still active and there are a handful of kosher bakeries and restaurants.
